Chettinad Masala

  • 2tbsp
    coriander powder
  • 1tbsp
    roasted cumin
  • 1tbsp
    Red chili powder
  • 1tsp

    chicken, cut into pieces

For Cooking

    onion, finely chopped

    turmeric powder
  • 1tbsp
    red chili powder

    water

    curry leaves

    coriander leaves, chopped

How to make Chicken Chettinad

Marinating the Chicken

  1. In a bowl, mix turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste, salt, red chili powder, and curd.

  2. Add the chicken pieces to the mixture and coat them well.

  3. Leave the chicken to marinate for 3 hours.

Cooking the Chicken Chettinad

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add the bay leaf and chopped onion.

  2. Sauté until the onion turns golden brown.

  3. Add the marinated chicken and cook for 4 to 5 minutes.

  4. Add the chopped tomato, turmeric powder, and red chili powder.

  5. Cook until the mixture leaves oil, about 5 to 7 minutes.

  6. Add the Chettinad masala and mix well.

  7. Pour in water and add curry leaves.

  8. Simmer until the chicken is cooked through.

  9. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
