A flavorful and aromatic Mutton Tikka Biryani made with marinated mutton, spices, and basmati rice.

Ingredients

(1 serving = 1 plate)
  • 1cup
    hung yogurt
  • 1 1/2tbsp
    raw papaya paste
  • 1 1/2tbsp
    ginger garlic paste
  • 2tbsp
    fried and crushed onion
  • 2 1/2tbsp
    tikka masala
  • 1/2kg
    boneless mutton cubes
  • 4tbsp
    cooking oil
  • 1piece
    medium onion, chopped
  • 2tbsp
    raisins
  • 1cup
    carrot, julienned
  • 1/2tsp
    cumin powder
  • 1/2tsp
    fennel seeds powder
  • 1tsp
    salt
  • 1/4tsp
    garam masala powder
  • 2piece
    stock cubes
  • 2cups
    soaked rice
  • 3cups
    water
  • 1tsp
    cooking oil
  • 1piece
    onion rings
  • 1piece
    tomato, julienned
  • 1piece
    capsicum, julienned
  • 1piece
    charcoal for smoke

How to make Mutton BBQ Rice

  1. In a bowl, add yogurt, raw papaya paste, ginger garlic paste, fried onion, and tikka masala. Whisk well.

  8. Add water, mix, and bring to a boil. Cover and cook on low flame for 15-20 minutes. Set aside.

  9. In a frying pan, add cooking oil and marinated mutton. Mix well, cover, and cook on low flame for 25-30 minutes or until meat is tender. Then cook on high flame until oil separates.

Tips & Tricks

  1. Ensure the mutton is marinated for at least 2 hours for better flavor.

  2. Giving the mutton a charcoal smoke enhances the aroma and taste.
