Ingredients

6 Servings
(1 serving = 1 bowl)
  • 2tbsp
    Olive Oil
  • 1piece
    Medium Onion, finely chopped
  • 2clove
    Garlic, minced
  • 6oz
    Tomato Paste
  • 14oz
    Crushed Tomatoes
  • 1/2cup
    Vodka
  • 1cup
    Cream
  • 1lb
    Penne Pasta
  • 1cup
    Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • Crushed Red Pepper Flakes, as needed
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh Basil Leaves, optional

How to make Gigi Hadid Pasta

  1. Heat a large pot of water over medium-high heat. Add a few generous pinches of salt and let it come to a boil while you prepare the sauce.

  2. In a large saucepan or Dutch oven over medium-high heat, add the olive oil. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 6-8 minutes.

  3. Add the crushed tomatoes and tomato paste and cook for another 6-8 minutes, or until the mixture gets dark and sticks to the bottom of the pot.

  4. Deglaze the pan with the vodka, making sure to scrape up the browned bits on the bottom.

  5. Scoop up around 1/4 cup of boiling water with a heatproof measuring cup. Add the cream to the same measuring cup. Pour the cream water into the sauce, stirring to quickly combine. Continue to cook over medium heat for 8-10 more minutes, stirring occasionally.

  6. While the sauce cooks, add the penne pasta to the boiling water and cook until al dente. Once cooked, use a slotted spoon or spider to transfer the pasta directly to the sauce.

  7. Turn the heat to low and add grated Parmesan cheese. Stir to combine, and cook for another 1-2 minutes. Add more pasta water as needed to create a velvety sauce that coats the penne.

  8. Serve pasta in large shallow bowls. Tear the fresh basil leaves on top and sprinkle with more Parmesan and crushed red pepper flakes.

Tips & Tricks

  1. Adjust the amount of crushed red pepper flakes to your spice preference.

  2. For a richer flavor, allow the sauce to simmer longer.
